The Wallet Card©

Daniel and The Wallet Card

The Wallet Card© is a free tool that can be utilized by the more independent teen or adult with autism to help safely disclose their disability to a first responder. There’ve been cards issued to individuals with autism in all 50 states.

How Does The Wallet Card© Work?

Each Wallet Card© can be personally customized to address each person’s unique communication, sensory, or behavior challenges. Also included on each card is emergency contact information for the individual.

There’s a short training video that should be watched prior to requesting a personalized Wallet Card© from the Disability Independence Group (DIG). This video is crucial to understanding how to safely self-disclose one’s disability to a first responder. The Wallet Card© is not intended to serve as a substitute for a valid form of identification, such as a driver’s license or state issued identification card.

How to request your very own Wallet Card©
